When you go into prayer, when you witness the events that are going on around as we wait for the end times to progress towards our blessed hope of the rapture, how often do you consider the Father's heart? It is said that we are living as in the "Days of Noah," and I believe that to be the case. In Genesis, we read, "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he made man on earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repentheth me that I have made them." Genesis 6:5-7
We have been discussing the eclipse that will take place on this day. I have prayed that the Lord shake the heavens and earth so mightily that it brings His people to their knees, and they repent of their wickedness, and turn to the Lord. This morning, I awoke grieved in Spirit. For the Lord to act in a way to instill fear in the children of disobedience, He must do what a Father does and punish them. "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous and repent." Revelation 3:19 When I prayed that He move to cause repentance, I did not consider that His heart was grieved. I partake in a grievous heart with my Lord in this day.
As parents, it would hurt us to punish our children, but it was done to teach a lesson so that they would consider their actions and redirect them towards a right path. Almost as if we were partakers in the punishment alongside our children. A parents love for their child's heart does that. It has compassion on those you spent your life teaching, loving, correcting. When they hurt, you hurt and when they act foolishly, it grieves your heart because you must take drastic measures to ensure that does not happen again. Consider the Father's heart in this day. We pray for our heart, but do you pray for His? I wept in prayer today; offering my heart to the Lord, asking to take on any of His pain just so He could be unburdened of it. I am nothing to carry such a weight, but I would give Him any part of me to end His suffering as He gave His son to end ours. What must He be going through as a witness to the actions of His children in this day? He blesses me, may I bless you oh Lord! May I give up my life to please you that your suffering may be less?
Whatever the Lord has in store for His children, consider His heart in all you do. I mourn in this day, and my spirit is cast down at His feet. He is my Comforter, is it possible that I can comfort Him? I am a mere speck, not powerful or mighty to perform the wonders of our Lord, but I would give anything to take on His grief in this day if I could. Go to Him in thanks and praise for His mercy upon your life. It's not because we are worthy, it's all because of mercy.
"Therefore, also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil." Joel 2:12-13
